Application of adhesive in automobile manufacturing industry |

Adhesive and bonding technology used in automobile manufacturing, not only can enhance the structure of the automobile, fastening rust, heat insulation and vibration reduction, interior and exterior decoration, but also can replace some parts of the welding, riveting and other traditional processes, simplify the production process, optimize the product structure. Therefore, the adhesive plays a more and more important role in the automobile lightweight, energy saving, prolonging service life and improving performance.
From the point of view of working parts and functions involved in the whole manufacturing process of automobile, adhesive for automobile can be roughly divided into five categories: adhesive for welding process, adhesive for coating process, adhesive for interior decoration, adhesive for assembly and adhesive for special process.
Among them, welding process glue is mainly used to replace spot welding or reduce welding spots, to enhance the structure, seal rust, vibration and noise reduction. The main varieties are:
(1) folding glue: used in the door, engine cover, suitcase cover and other rolled edge structure, its bonding strength is high, has completely replaced the spot welding structure. At present, this kind of adhesive is generally used as a one-component epoxy resin adhesive, with a single dosage of about 200g.
(2) spot welding sealant: pre-coating in the steel plate welding lap joint, spot welding after filling gap, ensure sealing, prevent corrosion. For those parts that are shielded after assembly and difficult to apply weld sealant spot welding sealant is indispensable;
(3) expansion anti-vibration adhesive: between the door inside and outside the board, the body outside the cover piece and between the reinforcement often used this kind of adhesive. It is generally made of synthetic rubber or resin and with foaming agent, after curing and expanding, can be covered with the reinforcement combined into one, to play the role of vibration and noise reduction.
